The ancient Baobab forest in Mirriah is one of those exclusive places where you could just spend days as a professional photographer and enjoy your finds… First of all, the forest in itself is impressive, regardless of the weather, but then there are all these people going back and forth. Here a man on horseback, [...]

On our way up to Falun a week ago, we drove through the town of Vadstena, and stopped by the castle to take some picture. Enjoy! History Vadstena Castle was built by King Gustav Vasa in 1545 as a fortress to protect Stockholm from enemies from the south. The fortress consisted of three smaller stone [...]

Someone is getting ready for delivery… 10½ months right now so it could be just about any day! Seems like Junior is leaning to the side… But whenever he decides to pop out, there will be milk waiting for it!

My blogger friend Victoria Cummings of Teachings of a horse recently tagged me, wanting me to tell you 6 things about myself that most of you don’t already know. Well, adding to the 5 weird things about myself that Hanna wanted me to share, and the 8 random facts about myself that Mark Base asked [...]

I recently learned that on September 11th 2008, Jan Egeland will interestingly enough be holding a speech in Norway relating to the ‘strengths and weaknesses’ of journalism: Role of the press; war/conflict/emerging nations Jan Egeland, (Norway), former chief of United Nations Humanitarian Division has been followed by journalists for years. He will do a speech [...]

It seems my 3 year-old niece is as much an animal lover as I. Over at her place, there is only one pet however: Donja. But the all-Nigerien hound doesn’t mind that at all, as it gives her exclusive ownership of Tabita’s attention. And as Tabita puts it, the two of them are truly friends!

And so, my lovely days in Falun are up… I still have a post or two to blog about, but nothing I can’t do after I’ve returned safe and sound to Falkenberg. Tomorrow I have plans of meeting with my good friend (and soon-bride-to-be!) Karin, who is hopefully coming over to my place for a [...]

And so the other day, Hanna took me on a true ‘Discover Dalarna’ excursion. With so much forest and so many lakes, the scenery was beautiful! In an earlier comment, Joy mentioned something about being able to be a good tourist in your own country, but in this part of the country, so far from [...]

As much as I love to ride, I also love to see the joy on the horses when they are let lose in an open terrain (more precisely, my brother’s garden!). With Sahara being as dominant as she is, she’ll want Arwen to follow cue, and so a lot of her efforts concentrate on getting [...]

On Sunday, Hanna and I wanted to venture down the Falu Mine on a guided tour. We were joined by Rachelle from the Cayman Islands; a relative of Hanna who was in Stockholm for the weekend to attend a wedding and who came to Falun for the day. Having never been down a mine before, [...]

After just a few days in Sweden, I went with north my good friend Hanna to the city of Falun (situated well into the country) where she’s been studying for the past few years. We were lucky because her grandmother needed someone to drive up her car, so we didn’t have to take the bus. [...]
