Hot season 2009, little less than a year ago…

…I was in Niger, exploring new trails with my young Rhodesian ridgeback…

Sheba, not yet one year old, was working on keeping up with the horses, despite the heat.

Anette was learning to take pictures while riding,

…and I was working hard on keeping Sheba from running in front of my horse (her favourite spot).

As a youngster with energy to waste, Sheba preferred the rides where we took her to the rock formations – her personal playground.

The horses could not really see what the point in climbing would be, preferring their four feet steadily secured on sandy soil.

Except for when one leg is needed for scratching, of course.

Looking back at last years unpublished pictures, I am left with one question…
