We are now in Burkina Faso! After two days in Mali, we crossed the border yesterday and are now in Ouagadougou (known as Ouaga), where we have applied for visas. We are about a day’s drive from Niamey, the capital of Niger – where we will need to apply for visas to Nigeria (for those who will be flying out of the country soon – myself not included!) before we can make the 900 km drive to Zinder – HOME SWEET HOME!

I had more Burkina Faso pictures in mind but the Internet is slow, so I’ll fill you in on the details once I’m back home. The journey through West Africa (from down the Atlantic Coast and the West across the Sahel border and to southern greenery) has been very interesting, and I am full of thoughts and observations. Hope to share them soon!
