The rains started early this year and although we’re still only in mid-June, the millet is already growing in the fields. My ridgeback is is thrilled that all her favourite water holes (all of which except one dried out in March) replenished early this year, allowing her to once again join us for long speedy bush rides… While the heat between the downpours is overwhelming at times, clouds dance once again on the horizon, playing with the light and once again creating that splendid West Africa late evening glow… The rainy season sky is beautiful and dramatic, and there is more to come!

It is good to hear that the rains have started. I have been reading about concerns about food shortages in Sub-Saharan Africa. I know that you cannot believe everything that you read, but it is still good to read that the millet is growing.
I have read two or three articles about the re-introduction of trees in Africa. I think of you whenever I read one.
What a delightful shot! Hurray for the rain.

Oh wow, what a picture, but really in a deeper way, what a story! I am so glad to have found your site through Skywatch. I am better because of it!
Sheba looks exhilarated running to a water hole! I hope you are having a beautiful weekend!

The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!
